Joan Miró, born in Barcelona in 1893, known for his highly influential artwork, the Spanish artist is best known for his surrealist paintings and sculptures. He developed a unique style characterized by whimsical, dreamlike imagery, often featuring biomorphic shapes, symbolic elements, and vibrant colors. Miró’s work evolved through various phases, including early influences of Fauvism and Cubism, before embracing Surrealism and eventually developing his signature style.
